After faking pregnancy for nine months despite her being barren, a Nakuru man has reported his wife to the police.
Wesley Rono of Kuresoi North claimed his wife Patricia informed him she was pregnant with their first child in December 2020, and he was overjoyed at first until he discovered it was all a ruse. According to The Standard, Rono, a businessman, decided to join in on his wife’s cat and mouse game.
Patricia would become irritated anytime her husband touched her tummy, which she would fill with clothing to create a false baby bulge.
“I saw she was packing clothing over her tummy and she would not let me get near or touch it,” he stated, adding that he provided everything she needed for her bogus ante-natal clinics”
After nine months, the devious lady persuaded her husband to give her money for delivery and other essential necessities for her and the baby.
On August 8, she told him she would contact him to keep him updated on the delivery, and that evening, he received a call from her notifying him that she had given birth and was on her way home.
“Her bravado astounded me. “No lady can give birth and then board a matatu in 30 minutes,” he explained.
She went to her paternal house for “recuperation,” then returned to her marital home with a baby boy who looked like a four-year-old, according to Rono.
He smelled a rat and reported his wife to the police, believing she had purchased the kid.
