Due to the reappearance of Covid-19 infections, the Ugandan government has prohibited all gatherings for the next 42 days, starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 7.
Learning institutions, houses of religion, public transportation, social events, and auction meetings are all included in the prohibition on physical gatherings established yesterday.
However, the president stated that the Cabinet, Legislature, and Judiciary will not be affected.
President Yoweri Museveni instructed all teachers to be completely vaccinated before they are allowed back into classrooms in his state of the pandemic address on Sunday, June 6.
“On June 4, 2021, the country recorded the most instances in a single day, with 1,259 instances out of 7,424 tests completed. “This is a positivity rate of 17%,” Museveni stated.
Uganda now has 634 active cases, 277 of which are severe and 37 of which are critical. They are permitted to use the country’s public and three private facilities.
